So actually a more local future is going to be a better future Why Because people will have more community more solidarity less loneliness healthier food healthier lifestyles more of an opportunity to participate in their own governance There'll be more agency there'll be in that sense more freedom certainly more democracy So transformative adaptation is a kind of win-win-win It says: let's decarbonize and deal with the impacts and change our society in the direction we need to change it anyway And furthermore I would add work with nature rather than against nature And that's the way in which another world is still just possible without having to endure collapse
